Helen runs workshop for children of all ages from nursery school children to pupils carrying out their GCSEs and A levels. Workshops include rust printing, 3D wire sculpture, mosaic, textiles and graphic design and can be tailored to the schools ciriculum and needs.
Helen is the coordinator for Purbeck Young Artists which supports creativity in schools. Helens role is to run and coordinate workshops at schools around the Purbeck area and co-ordinate the final exhibition on behalf of the young artists.
Helens rust printing workshops for GCSE students have been a great success. The work made during these workshops has been summited as part of the students final assessment and are tailored to specific areas of study. These workshops have inspired pupils to pursue a career in art and design.
Just recently Helen has taught workshops in craft Helen for home schooled children who attend the Artisan College in Bournemouth. Helen is currently working on a mosaic panel with students from Purbeck View School – a school for special needs.
Whilst living in Laos Helen shared her artist practice and skills to students studying at Vientiane International School. Helen also shared her ideas with the local community, who come from a traditional craft background, and was able to introduce new ways of interpreting and communicating visual ideas. Helen also taught private workshops from her studio in art and craft to local and international students aged 3-18yrs.
During a residency in Traidhos Artist Residency Program Helen taught Rust printing workshops for grade 1, IB Diploma and nursery students and students with English as their second language. These workshop helped develope the students’ fine motor skills and showed them to new skills.
